Welcome to Saturday Night Poetry!
The first Passion Pitch Poetry Open Mic of 2010 features Melvina Germain at the per.spec.tive gallery
on Saturday, January 30. Melvina's poems are emotionally and intellectually challenging and full of grit
and spirituality. Her debut performance in March 2009 at the Calgary Slam blew the heads off of
everyone in the room, and she continues to share powerful words.
Passion Pitch moves poetry to the only night big enough to contain it. Specifically, the last Saturday of
every month. The event moves to per.spec.tive gallery on 118, 1111 6 ave SW. The space is booked
exclusively for Passion Pitch Poetry. Come enjoy a great Saturday night of poetry and art.
Poets, come at 7:45 pm to sign up for the open mic. All styles welcome.
Melvina's Bio:
Melvina was born and raised by her Grandparents on Cape Breton Island, Sydney, Nova Scotia. She
has three children & 2 grandchildren. Prior to her husband's passing he encouraged her to share her
poetry. She entered the world of spoken word in March 2009 and won her first poetry slam the
following month. Melvina continues to enjoy and support spoken word events throughout the
community.
